Vera Side Table explores the relationship between traditional joinery and the material qualities of cast glass. Designed by Cologne-based designer Maximilian Beck, the table consists of three individually cast glass segments that interlock to form an open, self-supporting structure. Rather than relying on adhesives or mechanical fasteners, the elements are held together by their own weight and precise alignment.
The three segments define a clear geometric framework, leaving the interior visible and creating a shifting relationship between transparency, mass and empty space. The construction is deliberately exposed, making the precision of each component and the way they meet central to the object’s character.
Cast glass brings subtle variations in texture and surface, further emphasised by a combination of polished, satin-matt and textured finishes. These surfaces respond differently to light, revealing the material’s depth and character.
Produced in Germany, Vera is available in ICE and BLACK versions, with additional colour combinations possible on request. Designed for both interior and exterior use, the table is fully weather-resistant.
First presented in 2025, Vera was shown during Milan Design Week as part of Good Selection and Comune, and returned in a new edition in 2026.
Rather than concealing its assembly, Vera makes construction its defining feature. Its three distinct elements depend on one another to create a stable whole, bringing structural logic, material character and visual clarity into a single object.
